Mahatma Gandhi had stated, “India lives in its villages.” That is true even now in spite of rapid urbanization. One feels, that the rural area is neglected. The vision of Gandhiji is forgotten. Even a visionary’s grate Scheme i.e., the former President of India, Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam’s PURA is also forgotten.
This Research Center (MSY-RRC), takes Dr.Kalam’s PURA as a guiding principle to move ahead in creating conditions for a developed Rural Odisha. The Odia Rural Culture is unique. It is the juice of life that binds all in a sharing society. Each household knows what the others around are doing. The study will focus on deterioration and modifications in Rural Culture with urban impact.
